My name is Lucasi Kiatainaq.

I am a 24 year old photographer, videographer. I grew up in a small town called Kangirsujuaq, in the province Quebec. It has a population of just under 1000 people.

How I fell in love with photography and videography

There were couple of workshops happening when I was still in high school that were about photography. The school invited a guy from Montreal, but he is originally from France. I started to learn more about photography and I started to really like it. The moment I felt infatuated was when I went out and did my first long exposure photography at night. I went out when the northern lights were out and started taking pictures. I was so surprised by the quality of the image (even with a camera that costed me $300) at night. I felt really excited to be able to capture what I couldn’t with an IPod at the time. So I spent the next couple of years learning more about photography online and graduated in Art Literature Communications at John Abbott College.
